Welcome to Quality is JOB 1 - THE DUTY CYCLE
Quality is JOB 1 - THE DUTY CYCLE - The Stockbridge - Gregory Loop and the Clio Loop - be sure to get the most out of your Duty Cycle
HI thanks for dropping in. Thought I would start a "Mustang Pumpkin Run". Thought we might be attending car shows and sitting on chairs staring at our cars too much. So here's a chance to drive your mustang or Ford on a "classic route". The "DUTY CYCLE" is a "run" that Detroit auto companies have been driving to test the cars they are producing since at least 1977 - when I became aware of the DUTY CYCLE. I hired into FORD in 1977 as an Emission Test Driver who sat next to prototype test drivers running the DUTY CYCLE every day. After they would run the DUTY CYCLE they would bring their prototypes into my area and my team would run emission tests on the vehicles. BY Federal Law - Ford had to run emission tests on per-production and production vehicles up to 100K miles. I ran the emission tests in a computer lab with dynamometers - and the test driver guys put on the 100K miles driving around the Detroit area performing 300 mile - daily DUTY CYCLES.
SOooooo I have created 2 DUTY CYCLE loops that were from actual FORD DUTY CYCLES (which are constantly changing over time)
SOoooo if you like to drive your Mustang here are "2 DUTY CYCLE loops" that will make you enjoy your Mustang. This "pumpkin run" is not sponsored by any entity and I encourage all who drive to take care and not to land your pony in a ditch. i accept no responsibility for your bad driving and you accept all responsibility for your actions on this DUTY CYCLE pumpkin run.
The first "loop" is the "Stockbridge - Gregory Loop". This is about 50 miles and has plenty of 90 degree corners and the elevation goes up and down. Its like driving in another "state".
The second loop is the "Clio Loop" - again about 50 miles but much less challenging than the "Stockbridge - Gregory Loop" The Clio Loop is more like taking a drive into the country.
Both loops are about 50 miles and could be completed both in about an hour. I would recommend smelling the roses and stopping at various places along the way. Enjoy the ride.
SO first the Stockbridge - Gregory Loop - Saturday October 21st - 1pm
If you were a Ford test driver - where you are going to go to the bathroom is a main issue in your "run". SO, this run starts at the M-52 Webberville McDonalds at 1pm Saturday the 21st and kinda ends at the M-36 Zukey Lake Restaurant in Hamburg/Pickney (5011 Girard Dr. 48169) at about 4pm Saturday the 21st - large parking lot and picture time. (Zukey 810-231-1441)
From the M-52 Webberville McDonalds you make one turn in Gregory - a right - onto M-36 into Pickney and Hamburg. Then after the Zukey Lake Restaurant you turn left where M-36 forces you to turn left at a kinda dead end and take M-36 to US-23.
Go East on US-23 for a couple of miles to the rest area if necessary.
( if you want lots of twists and turns take M-36 off of M-52 before Stockbridge bypassing Stockbridge which takes you to Gregory - where you take a left to Pickney leading to Zukey Lake and the end of the loop)
just a couple of turns but the road provides you with way more than a dozen sweeping turns and changes in elevation.
If it rains October 21 - the Stockbridge - Gregory Loop run is on Sunday the 22nd and if it rains Sunday the 22nd - the event is postponed until the following weekend Saturday the 28th. This pushes the Clio Loop back a day to Sunday the 29th
The Clio Loop - Saturday October 28th - 1pm
This loop starts at Alex's truck stop at the I-75 and Grange Hall Road exit.
Again 2 turns taking the easy way'.
Go east on Grange Hall Road to M-15. (along the way Grange Hall Road makes a dead end - right hand turn at a stop sign)
M-15 North to M-57
M-57 West to Clio
I will return later with directions for a more scenic route after M-15 just past Davison and the Davison Eagles Club
Enjoy
See you all out there perhaps
